IEEE GlobalSpec, Inc. Elects New Board Chairman and Two Independent Directors
ALBANY, N.Y., Nov. 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- IEEE GlobalSpec, Inc., a for-profit subsidiary of IEEE and the leading provider of digital media solutions designed to connect industrial marketers with their target audience of engineering and technical professionals, today announced the election of two new directors, and the naming of its independent first Chairman.
Martin Keen, a designer and product innovator, joins the Board as an independent director. Keen has spent his professional career focusing on functional design, creating solutions to address problems of human well-being. In 2003, he patented and launched KEEN® Footwear. With its innovative product and unique corporate philosophy of consciousness and sustainability, KEEN quickly became the fastest-growing outdoor brand in the world. In 2011 Keen took on a new challenge: office furniture. Keen and his wife Mary incorporated Focal Upright Furniture. Their first product, the Locus Workstation, an ergonomic standing desk and leaning seat, was introduced at the 2012 International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York City. Since then, the young company has received rave reviews and won numerous design and innovation awards.

Shawn P. Uleske also joins the Board as an independent director. She currently serves as vice president, Business Management, Small and Medium Sized business for Pitney Bowes (PBI), a global technology company, where she is responsible for all pricing compliance, contract pricing, and managing the tools for sales automation. Throughout her long and successful career, she has led the creation of a loyalty program, product migration programs, product launches, and the drive of new business for small to medium clients. Uleske launched the first PC Postage product from Pitney Bowes in 2000.

Independent Director Cheri A. Warren has been elected Chairman of the Board of IEEE GlobalSpec, Inc. Since 2015, Warren has served as the Innovation Strategist for utility company National Grid. Over her tenure, she has held multiple leadership roles at National Grid, including senior vice president-Network Strategy for Gas and Electric, vice president of Electric Network Strategy, and vice president of Smart Grid. Within the company, she led a transformation of the sector from 19th-century design to one that can anticipate 21st century needs and created cutting-edge approaches to solving engineering and customer issues. Warren has authored and co-authored over 35 papers, delivered international keynote addresses, and won the IEEE PES Excellence in Electric Power Distribution Award for contributions to electric power reliability. She previously has served on the IEEE Board of Directors and the board of the IEEE Power and Energy Society.
