IEHP CELEBRATES 30 YEARS OF "CARING TOGETHER"

IEHP opened its doors on Sept. 1, 1996, serving 62,000 Medi-Cal members with a network of 650 providers. Today, IEHP provides affordable health coverage to 1.4 million — approximately one in three Inland Empire residents — and has transformed access to care by bringing resources directly to communities through vaccination clinics, well-child screenings and telehealth options.

"What began as an innovative idea to keep healthcare access local has become a vibrant community of more than a million people who trust us with their health," said IEHP Chief Executive Officer Jarrod McNaughton. "That's why, on World Heart Day, we honor the longstanding commitment at IEHP to care for those who are most impacted by inequality — because compassion and service have always been at the heart of who we are."

30 Days of Activity

At the heart of the anniversary campaign is the IEHP 30 for 30 Challenge, a community-wide wellness initiative encouraging members, providers, community partners, team members and Inland Empire residents to complete 30 minutes of wellness-based activity, five days a week, for 30 days in October and November. Activities can include walking, fitness classes, cycling, meditation, chair exercises or other activities supporting physical and mental wellbeing.

IEHP will also bring 30 for 30 activities to its Community Wellness Centers in Riverside, Victorville and starting November in San Bernardino, giving the community opportunities to connect and commemorate the anniversary through movement, wellness and connection.

"For 30 years, healthcare with heart has meant listening to our communities and finding new ways to meet people where they are," said IEHP Chief Operating Officer Susie White. "We've expanded services, strengthened our provider network and brought health and wellness resources directly into our neighborhoods. This anniversary is a wonderful milestone — one that allows us to celebrate our collective achievements and energize our ongoing commitment to helping our community move forward toward better health."

As IEHP enters its next chapter, its mission to heal and inspire the human spirit continues to guide its work and its vision for the Inland Empire, with each decision made with heart and with our members at the center of what we do.
