SAN FRANCISCO, April 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Illy caffe, supporter of artists and art initiatives across the globe, today announces a three-year sponsorship of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) and its Curators' Circle programs.
SFMOMA is about to complete a major building expansion designed by international architecture firm SnØhetta that triples the museum's gallery space and is scheduled to open on May 14, 2016. "We are thrilled to have illy onboard and grateful for their support. Curators' Circle members engage with SFMOMA curators, conservators, and other museum specialists through behind-the-scenes tours, events, and compelling learning opportunities. A recent Curators' Circle event welcomed the artist Ed Ruscha in conversation with Benezra.
Since 1992, more than 70 contemporary artists have collaborated on the illy Art Collection coffee cups collection, including Michelangelo Pistoletto, Jeff Koons, Marina Abramović and Louise Bourgeois. Illy Art Collection cups will be showcased in the SFMOMA Museum Store, and illy will host events at the museum that build upon its deep relationship with artists around the world.

Museum visitors will be able to enjoy illy coffee in Cafe 5, adjacent to the museum's sculpture garden.
