Educators have an important opportunity and responsibility to help children develop healthy eating and exercise habits. CCEI's course NFS100 teaches caregivers to develop a nutrition policy, strategies for working with families to promote good nutrition practices at home, and curriculum enrichment ideas for increasing healthy lifestyle choices and reducing childhood obesity. USDA nutrition recommendations, healthful snacking, and portion sizes are also covered. Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive 0.1 CEUs and the ability to print and/or save their certificate of completion immediately.
"If we want to ensure that our children grow up to be healthy, we have to start by modeling good habits ourselves and by creating an environment in which children are encouraged to make good choices about food and exercise," says Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. "It's the time of year that we often make fitness and health resolutions so be sure to include the children this year."
NFS100 is available at no cost to account holders with an active, annual individual or center-based subscription. Without a subscription, this course may be purchased individually through online enrollment at www.cceionline.edu.
