Stater Bros. Charities Donates Four 12-Passenger Transport Vans to VA Medical Center in Loma Linda

Hosts Military Appreciation Night at Ontario Reign Hockey Game

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., Nov. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Stater Bros. Charities recently provided over $100,000 in funding for the purchase of four (4) 12-passenger transport vans for the VA Medical Center in Loma Linda. In addition to purchasing the vans, Stater Bros. Charities is also arranging for complete vehicle wraps with decorative signage for each of these vans.

Stater Bros. Chairman and CEO and Navy Vet Jack H. Brown presented a check to VA Medical Center in Loma Linda on November 4, 2014 for the purchase of four 12-Passenger Transport Vans. These transport vans are used up to 16 hours a day to transport veterans in outlying areas to doctor's appointments, to deliver much needed medical equipment to veterans' homes, and to help veterans with errands such as grocery shopping. Since 2008, Stater Bros. Charities has donated a total of seven (7) transport vans to the VA Medical Center in Loma Linda

In addition, Stater Bros. Charities is hosting the 7^th Annual Military Appreciation Night at the Ontario Reign hockey game on Saturday, November 8^th, starting at 6:00 p.m., at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario. The entire Reign team will sport desert camouflage-inspired jerseys and socks which will be auctioned off immediately following the game, and the proceeds from the live auction will go to Stater Bros. Charities to benefit various veterans organizations.

Stater Bros. Markets was one of the first companies to announce protection for the jobs of the company's reservists when they are called to active duty, by continuing to pay their weekly wages minus military pay as well as the medical, dental and vision benefits for their families.
