Incapital Partners with Zacks Investment Research to Launch New Unit Trust Offering
Zacks Select Equities Blend Portfolio Centered on Proprietary Zacks Rating System
BOCA RATON, Fla. and CHICAGO, May 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Incapital LLC, a leading underwriter and distributor of fixed income securities and a growing range of financial products, today announced that it has partnered with Zacks Investment Research, one of the largest providers of research in the U.S., to bring a valuation-driven Unit Trust offering to the market.
The Zacks Select Equities Blend Portfolio embodies the 'Zacks Rank' proprietary quantitative rating system by selecting stocks based on pre-set quantitative investment criteria. The portfolio is comprised of 30 equally-weighted stocks -- 15 growth and 15 value -- which rank in the top 2,000 by market capitalization and hold a Zacks ranking of "Buy" or "Strong Buy", among other criteria.
"Our partnership with Zacks continues our strategy of joining forces with leading firms in the investment industry to offer compelling products to financial professionals and their clients," said John Browning, Director of Incapital's Unit Trust Division. "This portfolio capitalizes on Zacks' long history of providing investors with academic research."
Zacks Investment Research was founded in 1978 on the notion that earnings estimate revisions are the most powerful factor for predicting future stock price increases. Since 1988, a portfolio constructed of Zacks #1 Rank stocks has generated an average annual return of +26%. Comparatively, the S&P 500 has only returned +9% over the same period.[1] (Past performance is not indicative of future results.)
"Zacks Investment Research is proud to partner with Incapital to offer the Zacks Select Equities Blend unit trust portfolio," said Mike Castino, Director of Index Services at Zacks Investment Research. "Zacks has an established history of creating proprietary quantitative methodology for unit investment trusts and exchange traded funds. We look forward to offering financial professionals unique solutions to help meet their client's investment needs via the combined talents of both firms."
Incapital Unit Trust portfolios are professionally-selected fixed baskets of securities that allow investors to diversify market risk without the large capital commitment, time and expertise it may require to achieve this type of diversification on their own. They have a low minimum purchase and a predetermined investment life which provides for regular opportunities to review and evaluate an investor's long-term investment needs.
The Zacks partnership follows Incapital's recent announcement that it entered the Unit Trust market with the launch of a new offering in collaboration with Morningstar Investment Services, Inc.
