Independent Survey Finds 64 Percent of Respondents Face Challenges with Current Vulnerability Management Solution

HOUSTON, Nov. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Alert Logic (www.alertlogic.com), the leading provider of Security-as-a-Service solutions for the cloud, today announced the results of a commissioned study conducted by Forrester Consulting on behalf of Alert Logic to assess IT decision makers' satisfaction with their current vulnerability management platforms and the challenges companies face in securing their cloud environments against exposures.

In the study, IT professionals cited lack of visibility into their network and aging firewall systems as the top two factors for an increased presence of vulnerabilities in their environment. Additionally, thirty-seven percent of respondents estimated that their firm's sensitive data was breached in the past 12 months.

"Traditional vulnerability management solutions were not built to handle the complex and dynamic nature of the cloud," said Ben Matheson, Chief Marketing Officer for Alert Logic.  "We believe this study confirms that people want automated, continuous scanning and monitoring to achieve full visibility into their cloud environments."

The study also finds that IT professionals report seeing value in vulnerability management platforms, primarily citing the benefits of prioritization of vulnerabilities, continuous scanning and the surfacing of recommended remediation actions. They claimed that these capabilities freed up their time to work on more strategic IT initiatives to advance the business and provided better, more continuous visibility into their IT environments.
