IndiGo Selects Pratt & Whitney EcoPower® Engine Wash

PARIS, June 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- PARIS AIR SHOW -- IndiGo has signed a long-term agreement with Pratt & Whitney to use the company's environmentally responsible EcoPower® engine wash service on the airline's fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft. Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) company.

Through this agreement, IndiGo will receive approximately 200 washes annually on its growing fleet of V2500-powered A320s. The washes will be performed at the Mumbai International Airport.

Pratt & Whitney's patented EcoPower engine wash system reduces fuel burn by as much as 1.2 percent, eliminating approximately three pounds of carbon dioxide emissions for every pound of fuel saved, while also decreasing engine gas temperature, increasing the amount of time an engine can stay on wing.
