Indovinya launches open innovation challenge focused on fragrance solubilization for personal care products

Researchers and startups developing predictive models and new sustainable molecules that can enhance fragrance solubilization are invited to apply until October 26

THE WOODLANDS, Texas, Oct. 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Indovinya, the specialty chemicals and surfactants division of Indorama Ventures, announces the launch of its Open Innovation Challenge with a focus on the personal care market. In partnership with AEVO, a technology company specialized in corporate innovation management, the program invites researchers and startups to present sustainable solutions for fragrance solubilization without the use of ethoxylates. Solutions may include predictive models to guide and accelerate the discovery of new molecules and combinations that act as solubilizers. Applications are open at this link until October 26.

The challenge has two complementary fronts. The first aims to apply green chemistry principles and use naturally derived surfactants, readily biodegradable and free from microplastics, to create fragrance systems with high stability, enhanced sensory performance, and improved sustainability profile. The second focuses on the development of predictive models, powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), capable of anticipating solubilization, stability, and sensory outcomes for different molecules and surfactant mixtures (with an emphasis on non-ethoxylated formulations). This approach reduces the need for extensive laboratory testing, accelerates development, and shortens time-to-market.

Selected projects and solutions will have the opportunity to access joint development platforms and exchange knowledge, with potential licensing and commercial partnerships. After the application period, submissions will be evaluated by experts from AEVO and Indovinya. Finalists will take part in a mentorship program, followed by a Pitch Day with Indovinya leadership in the Personal Care, Digital R&D, and Innovation segments.
