Industry Expert Michelle Baratta Joins Syska Hennessy Group Los Angeles Office to Lead Vertical Transportation Practice Area

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Syska Hennessy Group, Inc., a global consulting, engineering and commissioning firm, is announcing that Michelle Baratta, a vertical transportation expert with almost four decades of industry experience, has joined the firm's Los Angeles office as an Associate Partner.

Syska Hennessy has been a leader in vertical transportation consulting for more than 60 years. The addition of Ms. Baratta will provide depth and resources in this well-established practice area and provide an integral presence in the Southwestern/Pacific area. Syska Hennessy Group is growing its comprehensive line up of engineering practice areas with the expansion of the firm's Vertical Transportation practice area into the Southwestern/Pacific region, which Ms. Baratta will lead. This practice area will provide consulting, design, reliability assessment and management of vertical transportation services for clients.

Ms. Baratta brings to Syska more than 36-years of experience and provides an in-depth understanding of constructability challenges, existing building issues and architectural design elements to her new position and the overall Vertical Transportation practice. She will be responsible for Syska Hennessy vertical transportation project work throughout the Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Phoenix, Orange County, Inland Empire and San Diego markets and will serve as a key collaborator with the entire organization.

Throughout her career, Ms. Baratta has been the primary vertical transportation consultant on some of the most complex elevator/escalator projects in the industry, including notable retail and hospitality projects, and has successfully performed condition assessments of elevators, escalators and moving walkways. She has also worked on a number of international projects in countries such as India, Cotai, Vietnam and China, and is widely recognized for her ability to ensure the compatibility of each design meets the project requirements. Ms. Baratta is also a Qualified Elevator Inspector as certified by NAESA.
