Innovative People Leader Dessalen Wood joins Thoughtexchange as CPO

Wood will exchange insights with forward-thinking leaders from all sectors at the upcoming #TeTransformVancouver People Intelligence Summit.

VANCOUVER, May 9, 2019 /PRNewswire/ - Dessalen Wood is putting her 20-year passion for people leadership to work for Thoughtexchange, a fast-growing Canadian community intelligence software company.

"In Thoughtexchange, there's this rare alignment between technology and humanity," says Wood, who used Thoughtexchange in her previous role as Vice President of Talent Development at Cineplex Entertainment. "Not many companies do what Thoughtexchange does and are at the same time so excited about the kind of people development work I do. It's such a natural fit."

As Chief People Officer, Wood will be supporting the company's rapid growth by providing input on product and people innovation, while regularly sharing insights with her peers through Thoughtexchange Virtual Events. She'll also be on stage at events across North America—including Thoughtexchange's upcoming Transform & Empower People Intelligence Summit™, happening in Vancouver BC on September 11-12, 2019.

"Anyone who has interacted with Dess immediately understands the passion, intelligence, and vision she brings to the entire Thoughtexchange community," says Thoughtexchange CEO, Dave MacLeod. "Whether she's presenting on stage, informing the roadmap, interacting one-on-one with customers, or coaching our staff, Dess brings a whole new level of energy and transformation to every situation. That's pretty awesome and we're very happy she's joined the team."

After a decade at Cineplex and a 20-year career as an HR executive, speaker, and coach with blue-chip North American organizations, Wood is excited to help Thoughtexchange grow and continue disrupting conventional leadership paradigms.

"I see so much possibility for real, honest conversations that are inclusive and not weighted by bias or hierarchy," Wood explains. "It's a truly unique opportunity to join a company innovating and influencing in the space I care so deeply about."
