Invitation Consultants Announces Winner of 4th Annual Design Contest

TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Invitation Consultants, Inc.'s 4th Annual Invitation Design Contest drew submissions from emerging and established graphic designers and artists from around the country. More than 250 designs were submitted and a talented panel of five judges chose the winners based on creativity, marketability, artistry and originality.

"This year's design contest was interesting because of the various design styles that were submitted," said Creative Director, Jennifer Reilly Kelmer. "There was such an infusion of creativity – from textured backgrounds to hand drawn type, the designs were really impressive."

Faiths Designs of Arizona submitted the Chalkboard Dinner Party invitation which won first place and the $1000 first place prize. The design resembled a chalkboard with creative type and cutlery.

Judge Jaime Derringer enjoyed the versatility of the design and said of it, "I love the idea of using a menu chalkboard as the inspiration. It ties in our everyday real life experiences and I think it would be very popular."

Awards were also given to the designs that came in second and third place – as well as the Crowd Pleaser Award, which was given to the design with the most Facebook "likes."

Sweet Street Gals (Allison McKown and Jessie Kaye) of Pennsylvania and New York won the $500 second place prize with their charming S'mores Under the Stars design.

"I love s'mores and I am outright obsessed with camping so this charming invitation is a hit with me!" said judge, Cyd Converse.

The third place prize of $250 was awarded to Tara Lilly of Portland, Oregon for her Playful Little Whale birthday invitation. The Crowd Pleaser Award went to Kamii K. Nettles of Atlanta, Georgia. Her Ampersand Save the Date design received 193 "likes" on Facebook.

The winning designs were chosen by a panel of judge with backgrounds in graphic design, stationery and party planning.
