BOCA RATON, Fla., May 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- iPic Entertainment announces today that the construction process is underway and on schedule for the eight-screen, 744-seat luxury movie theater escape iPic Theaters at The Boyd in downtown Philadelphia, set to open in 2015. Located one block from Rittenhouse Square at 1910 Chestnut Street, iPic Theaters at The Boyd will continue iPic Entertainment's vision to revolutionize the film industry, offering an exceptional movie-going experience and the ultimate night out. That experience will now include new dishes and concessions at the establishment's in-theater dining concept Tanzy Express, introduced by recently appointed renowned chef Sherry Yard, Corporate Vice President of Culinary Direction at iPic Entertainment. Yard was inducted into the prestigious James Beard Who's Who of Food and Beverage in America on May 5.

Guests will have the choice between Premium and Premium Plus seating and a diverse, locally sourced gourmet menu designed by Yard at Tanzy Express. The gourmet menu will feature items that are conducive to in-cinema dining with a high level of culinary craft, such as Salmon Tartar Cones and Lobster Rolls.

On the sweeter side, iPic Theaters at The Boyd will feature curated concessions showcasing Yard's take on classic favorites along with selections from local artisans, such as locally made caramels and toffee. From Yard's own Helms Bakery, guests can expect treats such as Chocolate Chip Toffee Coffee Cookies, Triple Gingerbread Cookies, Apple Caramel Ice Cream Cups with Almond Streusel and Creme Fraiche Rhubarb Pops.

Premium seat ticketholders will relax in large, plush leather seats and may purchase their food and beverage direct from Tanzy Express and carry it into the theater to enjoy at their seats. Premium Plus seating will feature reclining, oversized leather chairs; popcorn; pillows and blankets; and individual service-call buttons that summon ninja-like servers to deliver signature dishes or hand-crafted cocktails from Tanzy Express.

The new theater will also feature Tanzy, an innovative, independent dine-in restaurant serving artisanal Italian cuisine with contemporary style.
