BOCA RATON, Fla., Jan. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its national expansion plan, iPic Entertainment, the nation's fastest growing luxury movie theater and restaurant brand, will build a new luxury movie theater with approximately seven screens and 450 seats in the new Marketplace at Kirkland Urban, a project that will revitalize the urban core of Kirkland, WA. Established in 2006 and headquartered in South Florida, iPic Theaters has grown to 13 locations with 97 screens in eight states over the last five years. iPic brings a unique approach towards delivering an "affordable luxury experience" in the cinema marketplace.
"We couldn't be more proud to bring the revolutionary concept of iPic Theaters to Kirkland," says President and CEO of iPic Entertainment Hamid Hashemi. "iPic prides itself in transforming the movie-going experience into the ultimate night-out. From the moment of arrival, guests are invited into a surprising, sensory environment. Moviegoers escape to where iconic design and contemporary luxury set the stage for an exclusive lifestyle destination - one that provides style, comfort, relaxation and remarkable technology," he adds.
"As the leader in providing a unique, first-class entertainment experience for movie-goers, the partnership with iPic in the project was the perfect fit," says Jim Neal, Managing Principal at Talon Private Capital. "Their level of refinement, service and experience will complement the rest of the retail offerings at Kirkland Urban."
The new iPic Theaters in the Marketplace at Kirkland Urban, previously known as Kirkland Parkplace, will enable guests to enjoy their movies in ultimate comfort and style with the option of Premium or Premium Plus seating. iPic Kirkland will also feature the world's first patent pending viewing pods. These visionary seating pods — which encapsulate two reclining seats and a cubby in the corner to tuck away small items — feature revolutionary sound absorbing technology and are designed to create an intimate space for viewers to enjoy their movie without inhibiting or diluting sound.
Guests can also enjoy iPic's gourmet chef-driven grab and go and in-theater dining concept, iPic Express. Helmed by acclaimed three-time James Beard award-winning chef Sherry Yard with farm to glass mixology by Advanced Mixologist/Sommelier Adam Seger, Premium seat ticketholders can relax in large, plush leather seats and may purchase their food and beverage selections direct from iPic Express and carry into the theater to enjoy at their seat. Premium Plus ticket holders can enjoy iPic's signature luxury reclining, oversized leather chairs, courtesy pillows and blankets, and individual service-call buttons that summon ninja-like servers to deliver signature dishes or hand-crafted cocktails from iPic Express.
An exciting new, culinary and cocktail concept curated by award-winning Sherry Yard and Adam Seger will be revealed closer to opening.
The Marketplace at Kirkland Urban, a 1.2 million-square-foot mixed-used project located in downtown Kirkland, is slated to begin construction in Quarter 1, 2016. The project will consist of 600K square-feet of Class A Office space, 300K square-feet of residential, and 300K square-feet of retail, entertainment and restaurant space, along with iPic Theaters. The project is poised to officially open to the public in 2018.
Here, iPic Theaters will feature auditoriums with seating from 50 to 90 people in an intimate setting. All auditoriums will be equipped with 4K digital cinema technology and the viewing pods. All seats can be reserved ahead of time on iPic's proprietary reservation system on iPicTheaters.com, or moviegoers can simply download the iPic App to their iPhone or Android for a hassle-free one-step transaction process. A membership program offers iPic guests discount pricing, priority notification of tickets available for sale to blockbuster movies, access to exclusive movie showings, free upgrades to Premium Plus seats and the ability to earn points towards iPic Member Reward programs.
