itelligence Receives Repeat Order From Satellite Operator SES for Managing Systems Running SAP® Software

After system upgrade and rollout to SAP HANA® in the itelligence cloud

itelligence today announced that satellite operator SES has decided to continue relying on itelligence AG as its partner for operation, management and support of its systems running SAP® software. SES had already managed the upgrade and the migration of three core systems to the SAP HANA® platform with itelligence's assistance in 2016. (SES runs the SAP ERP, SAP Customer Relationship Management, SAP Business Warehouse and SAP Business Planning and Consolidation applications.) Following this change in technology, the Luxembourg company has now renewed its order for support for the systems on SAP HANA in the itelligence cloud.

Besides the positive experience of SES with itelligence services provided in the past, another key factor in the renewal was the ability to call on the highly professional services of itelligence and NTT DATA around the world. itelligence is one of the world's leading providers of Cloud Managed Services and Application Management in the SAP software environment.

Based in Luxembourg, SES operates a fleet of more than 50 satellites in Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) and 12 in Medium Earth Orbit (MEO), with a workforce of over 2,000. The company provides its services to over 700 broadcasters, telecommunication companies, mobility service providers and government and institutions.

In 2016 SES decided to upgrade the SAP solution it was using, by introducing mobile apps using the modern SAP Fiori® user experience as well as raising security standards.

SES decided to work with itelligence AG, which had provided services to the company for many years, and already supports over 500 applications of SAP HANA. In collaboration with the service provider, SES was able to virtually halve the envisaged project duration while still in the planning phase. Thanks to itelligence's experience, the project was implemented on time, and the upgraded systems were brought on-line with only one brief period of operational interruption.
