- With 96 percent of the daily recommended amount of whole grains, Kellogg's Mini-Wheats cereal keeps adults full all morning
BATTLE CREEK, Mich., May 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- As an adult, you might think that to get the energy and nutrition you need to start your day off right, breakfast has to be BIG - eggs and bacon big, French toast and sausage big, steel-cut oats big. This spring, Kellogg's® Mini-Wheats® cereal is challenging adults to think again about big breakfasts by taking a look at the superior nutrition found in this little biscuit.
Kellogg's Mini-Wheats cereal has eight layers of whole grain fiber in each little biscuit. Each bowl has 96 percent (1) of the Dietary Guidelines recommended amount of whole grains, which helps keeps adults full and satisfied. With more fiber and whole grains, and less sugar and fat than other popular breakfast choices, it's one BIG breakfast packed into every bite.
"I may look small, but don't be fooled," said brand mascot Mini™. "I'm a big breakfast packed into a little biscuit! The nutrients I offer help adults get up and at 'em every day."
Solving the Breakfast Conundrum
According to the Kellogg's "Breakfast in America" survey (2), nearly half of all adults are looking for a breakfast that gives them energy and doesn't leave them feeling hungry, and one-third admit they feel tired and sluggish when they skip it altogether. What these adults may not know is that a serving of Kellogg's Mini-Wheats cereal contains more fiber and whole grains than steel-cut oats or eggs and toast.
"Kellogg's Mini-Wheats cereal is a great solution for adults who want a fast, filling, delicious and nutritious breakfast," said Stacey Krawczyk, M.S., R.D., senior nutrition marketing, Kellogg Company. "The fiber, whole grains, and protein in Kellogg's Mini-Wheats cereal and a cup of skim milk contribute to a full and satisfied feeling all morning."
