LYFE Kitchen leaders, LYFE Kitchen ambassadors including Olympic Champion Janet Evans and Tarzana-resident Dr. Armand Dorian, LYFE Vegan Consulting Chef Tal Ronnen (recently named one of The Hollywood Reporter's 20 Most Influential Chefs in Hollywood), joined the Woodland Hills Chamber of Commerce to gladly cut the ribbon of fresh produce to mark the opening of the new restaurant to the public.

LYFE Kitchen showcases the talents Chefs Art Smith, Tal Ronnen and Jeremy Bringardner's trusted and thoughtful menu that features chef-inspired, delicious recipes, plant-based proteins. All LYFE Kitchen dishes contain fewer than 600 calories and 1,000 milligrams of sodium, with most choices containing much less.

The three chefs began collaborating on the menu in the home kitchen of Chef Smith. Together they spent more than a year on a taste quest to develop signature flavors and one-of-a-kind items found at LYFE Kitchen. 

LYFE Kitchen Tarzana guests will enjoy signature dishes such as Art's Unfriend Chicken and Tal's Ancient Grains Bowl which feature responsibly sourced ingredients from local farms and sustainable whenever possible, and rely on herbs, spices, fruits and vegetables to deliver outstanding flavors.

The diverse menu offers choices to meet any guests' personal food policies, including menus for guests who eat everything, those who prefer or require gluten-free choices, vegetarian or vegan options.  LYFE Kitchen also creates unique beverages like its popular Kale-Banana smoothie, inspired by LYFE Kitchen ambassador and pro-football star Troy Palomalu, and features prominent wines and locally produced craft beers.

The LYFE Kitchen menu incorporates ingredients sourced from local producers and suppliers whenever possible.  Tarzana guests will enjoy Brussels sprouts from Weiser Family Farms, luscious berries from Thorne Family Farm, delicious organic greens from Kenter Canyon Farms, grass-fed beef from Hearst Ranch and biodynamic wine on tap from Beckmen vineyards in Santa Barbara County.

• Reclaimed vintage high school and college stadium bleacher seating planks are reused as the drop wood ceiling and as waiting area benches at the front of the restaurant (with the original seat numbers).
• Furniture includes Indoor Air Quality Air Certification from Green Guard Environmental Institute and is upholstered with PVC-free material, reducing toxins in the air.
• Patio planters contain water reservoirs for drought-tolerant herbs grown in organic soils without pesticides.
• Tall hedges of Bay Laurel flank the patio for an aromatic cooling effect.
• An interior aquaponic herb wall educates guests about sustainable food growth, while reducing water use for irrigation.
• Low-Flow faucets with automatic timers & Low-Flush fixtures to help reduce the amount of water used by a minimum of 20%-40%.
• The use of Low-voltage & LED lighting, in conjunction with lighting controls in the LYFE Kitchen Restaurants, reduces energy usage by 35%.
