Jacobs and AECOM to Lead Transport Scotland's Strategic Transport Projects Review
Helping to shape the future of Scotland's transport infrastructure investment
DALLAS, Jan. 29, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacobs (NYSE:JEC) and AECOM have been awarded a contract by Transport Scotland to lead its second Strategic Transport Projects Review (STPR2). The STPR2 is a strategic review which will provide recommendations to Scottish Ministers on future transport investment in Scotland focused on themes of economic prosperity, equality, health and wellbeing and climate action.
Jacobs and AECOM will be supported by Big Partnership and the University of Leeds Institute of Transport Studies, as well as other industry technical experts.
The Jacobs and AECOM team undertook the first review published in 2008. This second review is programed to take two years and focuses on national and regional issues to deliver national transport priorities. This includes strategies to make Scotland more accessible for residents, visitors and business, creating better connectivity with sustainable, smart and cleaner transport options. The review considers all transport modes including the strategic road and rail networks, as well as active travel, island connectivity, ferries and buses, and encompasses an extensive stakeholder engagement program involving organizations from all parts of Scotland.
