James M. Behmke Named PIB Law's Managing Partner of New Boston Office
BOSTON, Oct. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- James M. Behmke, former Partner with Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP, has joined PIB Law as Managing Partner of the firm's new Boston office, and Chair of the firm's Intellectual Property Group.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Behmke has prosecuted countless patents for worldwide technology leaders and start-ups, in both the USPTO and foreign counterparts. He has established himself as a leader in areas of patents, copyrights, trademarks, and licensing for high-tech and high profile clients. His practice focuses on patent preparation and prosecution in a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, and computer arts, among other technological areas.
Along with Mr. Behmke, Stephen LeBarron and Kenneth Heywood, also from Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP, join the firm, bringing with them their combined knowledge in representation of advanced technologies; with matters involving software, hardware, telecommunications, mobile technologies, automation, medical devices, RFID, and cloud computing.

Before serving as a Partner at Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP, Mr. Behmke was a Senior Associate at two Boston area patent boutiques that primarily specialized in the areas of patents, copyrights, trademarks, and licensing. During his career, he was recognized as a New England "Rising Star" for his top legal talent. Mr. Behmke is licensed to practice in the State of Massachusetts, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. He received his Juris Doctor from Franklin Pierce Law Center and graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
