Jaspersoft Surpasses 5,000 Students on IBM Big Data University

SAN FRANCISCO, June 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Jaspersoft, the intelligence inside applications and business processes, today announced that its Hadoop Reporting and Analysis course on IBM's Big Data University, an online learning portal that promotes Big Data best practices for business professionals, has registered more than 5,000 students since its September 2012 launch. The course, which provides a reporting and analysis certification for Big Data professionals who work on the Hadoop platform, is offered free of charge.

As enterprises have increasingly embraced Big Data as an important source from which to gain operational insight and make better business decisions, there has been a considerable increase in demand for professionals with data analysis and reporting skillsets. A recent study from McKinsey & Co. points to a dramatic shortage of knowledge workers with Big Data skills, including a shortage of nearly 150,000 Big Data analysts and 1.5 million managers capable of using Big Data to influence business decisions.
