Jibe Mobile to Showcase Hosted IP Communications Service for Globally Interconnected Next Generation Messaging at Mobile 360 Series Atlanta

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Jibe Mobile www.jibemobile.com, the Cloud Communications Company for Mobile Operators, today announced that it will demonstrate its end-to-end IP messaging cloud-based services at the GSMA's Mobile 360 Series - North America Showcase event on September 22–23 in Atlanta. Jibe's platform and messaging client are based on GSMA's RCS specification, enabling carriers to rapidly launch and interconnect IP services throughout the world.

Jibe Mobile's end-to-end IP Communications Cloud (including Jibe's Private Cloud, Public Cloud, brandable IP consumer communications client, the Jibe RCS Hub and Telco-Web Gateway) is built for carriers to launch 'the new native' experience for mobile consumers everywhere, rivaling the best OTT has to offer. Jibe's IP Communications Cloud supports industry standards (including WebRTC, RCS, joyn™) and interoperability enabling carriers to deliver rich IP-based communications services -- video calling, group chat, and large media-file sharing.

Jibe Mobile will demonstrate Jibe's cloud-based (RCS/joyn) deployments for Sprint in North America and Deutsche Telekom in Europe. The RCS/joyn demonstration by Jibe will highlight the RCS features working between carriers, including – video calling, VoIP, group chat, and media-file sharing as an example of how Mobile Operators around the globe are launching IP services using Jibe's Cloud and Client, and interconnecting through Jibe's RCS Hub. Jibe will show how the service interworking functionality of its RCS Hub enables operators to interconnect even though they may have only launched a subset of features, or are using a different version of the RCS standard.

Jibe's cloud-based approach allows mobile carriers to launch RCS services quickly. The private cloud is used to enable operators with their own RCS service while the public cloud is for subscribers of carriers that have not implemented RCS.  Jibe also offers IP communications carrier clients that users can download, can be preinstalled, or can be installed as the native messaging client by OEMs. The communication client can be white label carrier branded. Sprint launched Messaging Plus, its RCS service powered by Jibe Mobile, in late 2013 and is now pre-loading Messaging Plus on most new Android-powered smartphones.

Deutsche Telekom and other multi-national carriers announced in February they are deploying RCS services hosted by Jibe in European markets and are benefiting from the fast, efficient roll-out and interconnection via Jibe's RCS Hub to other European carriers. In June, Deutsche Telekom's regional operating companies in Romania and Slovakia rolled out their joyn services developed by Jibe Mobile.
