John Crane's New Service Center Positions the Company for Continued Growth

PASADENA, Texas, Jan. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- John Crane – the acknowledged global leader in the supply of engineered mechanical seals, mechanical seal support systems and mechanical packing – recently opened a 65,000-square-foot facility in the Houston suburb of Pasadena after being in its Webster, Texas location since April 1990.  The new facility is more than 20,000 square feet larger than the company's former site.  An open house is planned for this month.

"Our new location puts us closer to our core customer base, which enhances our ability to service them in the most efficient and timely fashion possible," says Dale Fadner, Regional Business Manager. "We are also very excited about the increases in manufacturing and warehousing capacity; as well as the addition of our in-house customer training facilities."

The state-of-the-art training center includes a classroom, pump lab and sealing Demonstration Room that will give both customers and employees the opportunity to learn installation techniques while seeing John Crane's products in action. "These in-house facilities will help us train our customers on the installation and proper use of our products, and afford us the opportunity to show them how we actually manufacture and repair them as well," says Fadner. "Training our customers at our service center helps us to give them a true sense of our capabilities."

The increased capacity of the new facility will allow John Crane to better meet the needs of its current customers as well as to take on new opportunities in the Houston area, the state of Texas, and nationwide.  "In spite of the current economic downturn, we felt the time was right for us to make this investment in additional infrastructure so we are positioned to meet the needs of our customers as the economy improves," says Fadner.  "As our customers' needs change and expand, we will have the infrastructure available to accommodate them.
