John Myers joins Avison Young in Suburban Maryland
Industry veteran will bolster Maryland leasing operations
WASHINGTON, DC, May 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ - Keith Lipton, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company's Washington, DC region, announced today, that John Myers has joined the firm in Suburban Maryland.
Effective immediately, Myers becomes a Principal of Avison Young. Based in the company's Gaithersburg, MD office, Myers will focus on landlord and tenant representation and expanding the company's presence in Suburban Maryland markets. Myers brings more than 30 years of commercial real estate experience to Avison Young. Prior to joining the firm, he served as Managing Director at Cassidy Turley (now DTZ) for nine years in Suburban Maryland.

Myers commenced his commercial real estate career in 1985 as a leasing agent for Smithy Braedon Company. In 1987, he moved to Barnes Morris Pardoe & Foster as Senior Vice-President. Later, Myers spent nine years at Jones Lang LaSalle and Jones Lang Wootton as Senior Vice-President, cultivating institutional client relationships. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Maryland.
Avison Young opened its Washington, DC office in November 2009 with three employees and has grown to 250 employees today in Washington, DC, Tysons Corner and Suburban Maryland.
