SIOUX FALLS, S.D., Oct. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- LodgeNet Interactive Corporation (NASDAQ: LNET), the leading provider of interactive media and connectivity services to hospitality and healthcare businesses and the consumers they serve, announced today that their Envision™ interactive HDTV platform has been chosen as a brand standard by Joie de Vivre Hotels, a collection of more than 30 boutique hotels and resorts in California and the Southwest United States.
LodgeNet and Joie de Vivre are partnering in an accelerated HDTV upgrade strategy that has already seen Envision installed in two of Joie de Vivre's hotels in Southern California – the Custom Hotel LAX and the Shorebreak Hotel – with a third installation scheduled for completion this month at The Saguaro in Scottsdale, AZ. Five additional Joie de Vivre properties are scheduled for upgrades to Envision by the end of this year.
Through Envision, guests at Joie de Vivre hotels will enjoy a world-class interactive HDTV experience that includes eCompendium, providing interactive access to hotel and local information which each hotel can manage through the PowerPortal™ authoring tool. An In-Room Dining app will enable guests to browse and order room service through the TV, while the Flyte Tracker provides them with real-time information about flight arrivals and departures. In properties with LG Pro:Centric™ televisions, guests will have access to an Interactive Program Guide to quickly find the programs they want. A wide range of on demand HD entertainment will also be available, including the best still-in-theaters Hollywood movies and much more.
"Each Joie de Vivre hotel has a unique identity but they all share a fun, fresh vibe and a commitment to create memorable guest experiences – attributes that our Envision platform and apps complement perfectly," said David Goldstone, Vice President Sales & Hotel Relations for LodgeNet. "We believe that guests and staff at Joie de Vivre hotels will truly be thrilled with what Envision allows them to do, and that it will create an in-room environment that fulfills Joie de Vivre's stated mission to 'create joy' for travelers."
"Adopting Envision as a brand standard reflects our commitment to equipping our guest rooms with industry leading interactive TV technology," said Michael Stano, Vice President Technology for Joie de Vivre Hotels. "Envision is a vital piece in our initiative to integrate high-definition television and entertainment content into the Joie de Vivre guest experience by the end of 2012, and we welcome LodgeNet as a valued partner in this endeavor."
Joie de Vivre Hotels (www.jdvhotels.com) embarked on its mission to "create joy" for guests and employees in 1987, when Chip Conley founded the innovative hospitality company in San Francisco. Each one of Joie de Vivre's more than 30 hotels is an original concept designed to reflect the local community and engage the five senses so that guests enjoy authentic, memorable experiences. Today Joie de Vivre manages the largest collection of boutique hotels and resorts in California and is expanding outside the state with openings in Scottsdale, AZ this fall and Chicago in early 2012.
