MIAMI, July 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) President & CEO William D. Talbert, III, CDME celebrates with a Miami vacation winner and a hyped up crowd gathered at The Shops at Columbus Circle in New York City to kick off its national Vote Miami 2016 campaign. The rally held July 6, and the national Vote Miami 2016 campaign, is igniting Americans to stand up for their right to take vacation! With more than 55% of Americans leaving vacation time unused last year (that's 658 million unused days**), Greater Miami and the Beaches is encouraging vacation seekers to join the movement and take advantage of amazing hotel and destination deals. Everyone is welcome to vote for vacation days and vote for Miami by visiting the GMCVB's dedicated website - www.votemiami2016.com. Everyone who casts a vote there will be entered to win a vacation to the destination. Additionally, the website is a rich resource for assistance in planning vacations as well as outlines the destination's positions on the value of a Miami vacation.
Hundreds gathered at the Vote Miami 2016 rally to commence the movement where participants joined in the fun with vacation giveaways and special signature Miami experiences including samba dancers, Cuban coffee sampling, a live performance and nonstop entertainment. Voting booths featured videos showcasing the destination's neighborhoods and attractions while one larger than life voting booth accepted votes for Miami on the spot. Those voting had chances to win vacations at GMCVB partner resorts - the Surfcomber South Beach, Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort, Sagamore Miami Beach and National Hotel Miami Beach. Co-sponsor MasterCard supplied lucky winners with $100 gift cards for use on their Miami vacations.
