JW Player Opens Submissions for Filmmaker Awards at JW INSIGHTS 2015

NEW YORK, May 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- JW Player, a leading online and mobile video platform and player technology company, today officially calls for young filmmakers in the greater NYC-area to submit short videos for consideration for The JW Player Filmmaker Awards. Two prizes will be awarded, one in the category of "Best Short Film", and the other in the category of "Best Direction". Each winner will receive $1,000 to be applied towards the cost of education or film production. Videos can be submitted here.

Those interested in submitting a video for consideration must be under the age of 30, live in the New York area, and available to attend JW INSIGHTS 2015 on May 19, 2015 in New York City. Videos must be under two minutes in length and focus on any topic or medium of the video maker's choosing. JW INSIGHTS 2015 is a free educational and networking event that brings together thought leaders and influencers in online and mobile video to discuss innovation and standards in video, with a focus on the hot-button topics of monetization, data and technology. Sessions feature executives from Google, PopSugar, SpotXchange and Verizon, who will educate attendees about how digital video is impacting brands, advertisers, developers and consumers.
