Before racing, drivers attend a mandatory safety briefing to go over various safety measures such as the meanings of different race flags, racing etiquette, how to tighten the go-kart's seatbelts, and fastening the DOT-approved rental helmets.

Coaching Opportunities

Beyond safety briefings, K1 Speed provides learning opportunities through K1-on-1 coaching lessons, which give racing hopefuls the opportunity to learn more in-depth racing techniques and how to improve lap times. K1-on-1 lessons can be scheduled at the front desk of any K1 Speed center.

K1 Speed uses all-electric OTL go-karts, which eliminate exposure to toxic engine fumes present with gas-powered go-karts. Electric karts also prevent consumers from accidentally touching the motor or exhaust, which can result in burns. Kart speed is electronically controlled by the track operator, ensuring quick responses to reckless or unsafe racing.
