Kaiser Permanente Washington Leads State in Medical Group Quality and Efficiency of Care

SEATTLE, Dec. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Kaiser Permanente Washington has once again been ranked as the top-performing medical group in Washington, according to the 2017 Washington Health Alliance (Alliance) Community Checkup. This marks the 11^th consecutive year that Kaiser Permanente Washington (Group Health Cooperative prior to 2017) has ranked the highest among medical groups included in the Community Checkup report.

The Alliance's 2017 Community Checkup scored Kaiser Permanente's medical group better than average on 23 of 30 measures on clinical quality and efficiency of care for the commercially insured population — more than any medical group in the state. Kaiser Permanente was ranked as the top-performing medical group for both commercially insured and Medicaid populations.

The Community Checkup is a cornerstone of the Alliance's work, providing a community-level view on important measures of health care quality. Measures include immunization rates; medication management; health screenings; and care for chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease and depression. The annual report helps consumers know how various medical providers rate.
