KAPITALL and WIRED Unveils the Social Index

NEW YORK, Oct. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- KAPITALL (www.kapitall.com), the next generation investing platform, announced today that WIRED has released a custom widget, The Social Index, in its Business section (www.wired.com/business) that uses KAPITALL's data and technology.

The Social Index, designed by WIRED and powered by KAPITALL, features the nine public companies most "Liked" on Facebook and tracks their daily stock performance. In creating the index WIRED hopes to learn whether there is a correlation between Facebook "Likes" and stock market performance and whether there is any correlation between an individual's online and offline activities. Such data might then be used to develop profitable investing strategies.

The Social Index widget also contains links to in-depth information about the companies in the index as well as advanced functionality to compare all companies on various market stats. Over the last year KAPITALL's Social Index was significantly correlated to 7 of the 9 stocks comprising the index.
