Kelley Construction Recieves KEMI Award in Recognition for Excellence in Workplace Safety
LOUISVILLE, Ken., Nov. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Presented to organizations that demonstrate exceptional dedication to improving workplace safety, Kelley Construction is one of only five organizations to receive the 2012 KEMI Destiny Award for the second consecutive year.
The award is granted based upon an organization's ability to meet a stringent list of determined statistical criteria as well as an evaluation of the overall quality and effectiveness of its safety program and commitment to continued safety excellence.
At Kelley Construction, focus is on a proactive approach for continual improvement of workplace safety and health management by promoting two key objectives: responsibility and accountability. Each Kelley employee and subcontractor is held to the highest of performance measures; undergoes jobsite safety orientation for each site in which they enter; and is empowered to identify, assess and prevent or control hazards.
"While Kelley welcomes recognition of its efforts in building a zero tolerance culture towards hazards, incidents and injuries, we are mindful to not rest on our past success and to continuously drive improvement," says Michael Fackler, Kelley Construction's full-time Safety Director.
