Kelley Drye Strengthens Government Contracts Practice With Two Seasoned Advisors

WASHINGTON, Sept. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Partner, David T. Hickey and senior advisor, Joseph Corrigan have joined Kelley Drye & Warren LLP in the Government Contracts practice group, where they will advise on federal procurement, Department of Defense, veteran's affairs, homeland security, national defense, and aerospace legal and legislative issues.

Most recently, Mr. Hickey served as a partner in Barnes & Thornburg LLP's Corporate Department.  Previously, he was a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig LLP and in-house counsel for General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems.  In addition to his private sector experience, Mr. Hickey also served as a staff investigator for the United States Senate Committee on governmental affairs and special investigations. He also was a manager in the United States House of Representatives, Office of the Clerk, where he implemented congressional ethics responsibilities under the Lobbying Disclosure Act, Ethics in Government Act, Congressional Mailing Standards, House Gift and Travel Rules and the Federal Election Campaign Act.  He is a former Army infantry officer.

Mr. Corrigan also joins Kelley Drye from Barnes & Thornburg LLP, where he served as Senior Public Policy Advisor.  Previously he was a Senior Director at Greenberg Traurig LLP.  Prior to joining the private sector, Mr. Corrigan served in the U.S. Army from 1982-2005, notably serving as the Army's key point person on Capitol Hill for Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), land conveyances and Army leasing programs. He also served as the Legislative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army from 2004-2005. In his representation of government contract clients, Mr. Corrigan provides a deep understanding of the U.S. defense market with a special emphasis on military hardware and equipment, federal procurement of goods and services, policy issues associated with defense depots, and in the construction and engineering services markets. He also assists clients with permits from the Army Corps of Engineers as well as represents municipalities or companies with an interest in Corps of Engineers civil works projects or programs.
