Kellogg's Frosted Flakes® Calls On Dads And Kids To #ShowYourStripes This Summer
As the official breakfast of Little League, Kellogg's Frosted Flakes keeps the "play" in playing sports
BATTLE CREEK, Mich., June 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- This summer, as the official breakfast of Little League, Kellogg's Frosted Flakes® is calling all dads and kids to "Show Their Stripes" – spotlighting the way they play sports with a sense of passion, sportsmanship and team spirit. From sharing a moment during a pre-game ritual or encouraging good sportsmanship on the field, the #ShowYourStripes program will celebrate the play in playing sports, and those that show what being a good sport is all about this Little League season.
To kick off the summer, today Kellogg's Frosted Flakes released an inspirational video compilation of last year's best "Show Your Stripes" moments from the 2014 Little League Baseball and Softball World Series, encouraging Dad to hit the field with his kid and make memories of their own during the 2015 season. And throughout this summer, Kellogg's Frosted Flakes is encouraging everyone to share their #ShowYourStripes moments on social media.

Armin Brott, the writer behind the popular blog Mr. Dad, and author of eight bestselling books on fatherhood, knows how important it is to spend time with the kids creating shared memories. Brott has partnered with Frosted Flakes this summer to provide tips for dads looking to better connect with their children and "Show Their Stripes" when they do.
"There's no one right way to 'dad,' because every father and every kid is unique," says Brott. "Whether spending hours squatting behind home plate to help build his son's confidence or he's sporting his daughter's soccer team's colors from head to toe at the grocery store, the kids will always remember those Show-Your-Stripes moments when dad helped them find their true colors."
Armin's Show Your Stripes tips for dads:
- Encourage your children to express their team spirit and successes in a positive way; there's a fine line between celebrating and showboating.
- Block out time in the evenings or on the weekends when you'll forget about work and checking your email, and spend that time practicing a sport or doing one of your kids' favorite hobbies.
- Lead by example when you're watching sports with your kids. Never scream at the officials or throw insults at bad players. You may think your kids are ignoring you, but you'll be horrified when they bring those same negative words and behaviors into their own games.
- Point out to your kids real-life examples of good—and bad—sportsmanship. You can talk all day long about integrity and fair play, but seeing it in action drives the point home much more effectively.
- Whether they win or lose, always congratulate your children on a game well played.
The campaign continues in August during the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, where Kellogg's Frosted Flakes will host a "Hall of Stripes" activation, featuring the best shared moments between dad and kid, as well as Little League memorabilia from years past.
