Kent Collier Joins Greyling Insurance Brokerage and Risk Consulting - a Division of EPIC

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants, a retail property & casualty insurance brokerage and employee benefits consultant, announced today that Kent Collier, J.D., LEED AP BD+C, has joined the firm's Greyling Insurance Brokerage Division as an associate client manager. Greyling is a highly regarded specialty insurance broker and risk management consulting team serving architects, engineers, contractors, environmental service firms and law firms across the country.

In his new role with Greyling/EPIC, Collier will be responsible for providing insurance program and risk management support to a group of clients across the nation, including contract risk management advice, loss mitigation strategies, claims advocacy, and client risk management projects. He will also be involved in authoring technical articles and giving speeches and presentation on industry topics.

Prior to joining EPIC Collier spent more than eight years as a Construction Attorney with the law firm of Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP, in Atlanta, Georgia, where he represented architects/engineers, owners/developers, general contractors, and subcontractors as a member of the firm's construction litigation team.

At Sutherland, Collier built a robust transactional practice including the drafting and negotiation of AIA documents, subcontracts, design/build and EPC agreements, purchase orders, change orders, and amendments. Recognizing an emerging area of construction transactions, Collier developed expertise in public-private partnerships (P3) and created a P3 practice group within the firm.

As a litigator, Collier handled issues related to nonpayment, delay and scheduling, construction defects, cost accounting, insurance coverage, surety claims, product liability, design responsibility and omissions, breach of contract, and torts. He represented a diverse group of construction clients on a variety of projects throughout the country including commercial, high-rise, condominium, hospital, casino, hotel, school, power, industrial, and civil projects.

Collier earned a B.A. Degree in Economics from the University of Virginia in 2002 before receiving his J. D. Degree from Emory University School of Law in 2005.

Professionally, Collier is a licensed attorney in Georgia, New York, and Florida, where he is a Board Certified Specialist in Construction Law.  He is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional in Building Design and Construction. In addition, Collier was recognized as a "Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Star" for construction litigation in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
