The KEVRIC team prepares biomedical and scientific bibliographic citations for entry into MEDLINE®, NLM's premier bibliographic database that is the primary component of PubMed®. MEDLINE contains over 16 million references to journal articles in life sciences and 2,000-4,000 references are added daily. KEVRIC assists with the review, correction, and enhancement of bibliographic citation data for MEDLINE. Machine-readable citations for every article are reviewed against the original article for completeness, correct format of author names, correct capitalization of title words, and completeness of author affiliation, funding resources, and databank information data. KEVRIC established a comprehensive quality control system that identifies information inconsistencies to be clarified by the publisher before incorporation into NLM systems.
"To meet NLM's rigorous productivity and accuracy requirements, our team completes roughly 3,000 citations daily," states Dorisa Harris, Senior Vice President, IMC. "Our role in this process ensures that researchers around the world can find, review, and incorporate the scientific body of knowledge into their research projects."
