Korea's Davich Optical Looks to IBM Cloud to Expand Global Business

SEOUL, South Korea, Aug. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced that Davich Optical Chain Store, the largest eyewear retail chain in Korea, has adopted IBM cloud to expand its operations overseas and improve internal information management processes. 

Founded in 1986, Davich Optical currently has 170 branches across the country. With a strong client base in Korea, the company is now planning to expand its operations in the overseas markets, especially in the US. As part of its plans to expand, Davich Optical wanted to develop a robust enterprise resource planning (ERP) system for its operations. The ERP system will help Davich Optical improve its business operations, meet regulatory requirements, and offer better customer service.

Davich Optical selected SoftLayer, an IBM Company, to host the ERP system for its ability to quickly deploy enterprise grade, highly secured cloud infrastructure. The company is planning to use the cloud environment to store and manage enterprise and customer data. With a cloud based ERP system, the information can be easily shared and accessed by the end users.
