Kroger and Instacart Expand Convenient, Same-day Grocery Delivery

CINCINNATI and SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR), America's largest supermarket retailer, and Instacart, the North American leader in online groceries and one of the fastest growing companies in e-commerce, announced today a national partnership expansion, bringing the signature same-day delivery experience to 75 additional Kroger Family of Stores markets throughout the United States by late October. The expansion will grow Kroger and Instacart's nationwide footprint by 50 percent, making the delivery service available through more than 1,600 stores.  

Kroger customers in more communities throughout the country – starting today with Atlanta, Augusta, Knoxville, Little Rock, Memphis, Nashville, and other cities – can fill their online carts and have everyday essentials and fresh groceries delivered in as little as two hours. Today's news builds upon the existing partnership Kroger and Instacart jointly announced in the fall of 2017 and expanded this past March. The latest growth is a strategic step as both companies work together to offer same-day grocery delivery and a seamless digital experience to more households every day.

Customers can shop for the same-day experience at delivery.kroger.com or their local store's website. After signing into their digital account and entering a zip code, customers can shop the digital store for Our Brands, national products, fresh produce, meat and seafood, deli meats and cheeses, natural and organic foods including Simple Truth®, craft and artisan groceries, and hot foods including rotisserie chickens. Once a customer completes their online shopping experience, their order can be delivered in as little as two hours. Customers earn Kroger fuel rewards on every delivery purchase and can redeem their digital coupons to save even more on their groceries. Customers ordering through Kroger's website receive their first delivery free with no membership fee.
