Kukun unveils mobile-friendly platform, suite of tools aimed at changing the way homeowners renovate

MENLO PARK, Calif., June 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the home renovation marketplace Kukun unveiled a new suite of tools aimed at easing the common pains associated with home renovation. The company strives to address renovation fears (renophobia), and create a common language between home renovation professionals and homeowners.

These tools and updates include improvements to Kukun's cost estimation feature, allowing for completely customized renovation cost estimates. The tool was launched in February 2015, and developed with the help of a leading contractor. Users have estimated more than $200 million in renovation projects with it to-date.

The latest release also includes a new feature that uses a patent-pending algorithm to help users estimate the additional equity built (Projected Home Value) into a home through various renovation projects. The algorithm employs historical and geographic data, as well as economical conditions and other indexes to estimate additional equity.

In an effort to standardize the home renovation process, facilitate comparisons for users, and reduce the work for professionals involved in bidding on jobs, Kukun users can also access a new request for quotation (RFQ) template. This enables potential renovators to easily obtain bids from a variety of home renovation professionals.

All of these tools are available on a new, modern mobile platform, enabling users to easily determine which home improvement projects to tackle on in just a few clicks, while on the go.
