The owners went to Milan, Italy to find the ultimate commercial pasta machine where it is installed in La Via in a glass enclosed room in full view by customers. The wood fired pizza oven, also imported from Italy, is at the center of La Via's open kitchen.

The restaurant's founding partners are Salvatore Mauro, a former owner of one of South Florida's most popular restaurants, Casa D'Angelo, along with Faith Mauro, who has 30 years restaurant experience in New York, New Jersey and Florida.
