Land Rover of San Antonio welcomes new LR4

SAN ANTONIO, Jan. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The time for the new model-year of Land Rover vehicles has arrived at Land Rover of San Antonio. This is always an exciting time for the dealership because it is always a surprise how Land Rover engineers are going improve on the previous year's version of the same vehicle. This round of new arrivals has brought the 2014 Land Rover LR4 to San Antonio, TX and the vehicle is currently available at the Land Rover of San Antonio showroom. The changes for the new Land Rover LR4 are many, but largely subtle. Regardless of the changes, customers looking for a luxury SUV with world-class capability will still be more than impressed with the 2014 Land Rover LR4.

Among the subtle changes for the 2014 Land Rover LR4 includes a new grille design that is more modern and in line with contemporary SUV style. With the new grille also come updates to the headlights that also skew more toward the modern look of the rest of the luxury SUV segment without being derivative. In a slight departure from the Land Rover's off-road capability, the two-speed transfer case has been replaced with a single-speed component to reflect the needs of LR4 owners who spend more time on the pavement than off of it.

Changes affected by the removal of the two-speed transfer case do not mean that the 2014 Land Rover cannot go off-road. The new LR4 still comes with the much touted Terrain Response System that will allow for some off-road capabilities, however, the 2014 LR4 will be more at home as a family hauler than as an off-road trail breaker. More changes to the 2014 Land Rover LR4 include the replacement of the old V-8 engine with a more fuel-efficient, supercharged 3.0-liter, V-6 engine that will max out Environmental Protection Agency fuel-economy scores of around 20 miles per gallon on the highway while producing 340 horsepower. This new engine is capable of propelling the new LR4 from zero-to-60 mph in less than eight seconds with a top speed of more than 120 miles per hour.
