MARIETTA, Ga., July 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The 46,000-square-foot retail and medical office building built on Marietta's Powder Springs Road may finally have a new owner after several years of sitting incomplete. The building at 1800 Powder Springs Road is set for auction in a major John Dixon & Associates event set for August 25.
The auction, which will be conducted in the John Dixon & Associates offices in Marietta, will include more than 70 properties, including four commercial buildings in Stone Mountain and development land in Snellville.
"This Powder Springs Road building may be a real find for the right buyer. The builder just ran out of money and never finished it, so it will require some investment to get it ready for tenants," said John Dixon, president of the auction company.
The four Stone Mountain buildings, two of which are leased and occupied, are part of a family living trust.
"These are well located buildings very close together. Three are on East Mountain Street and will sell together because they share a parking lot," said Dixon.
Gwinnett County will be another focus of the auction, with 23 acres at the corner of Dennis Springs Road and Norris Lake Road in Snellville. "This land is located across from a nice new subdivision and is currently zoned commercial, but the new owner might consider rezoning it as residential and putting a subdivision there, in this high-demand area," said Dixon.
The auction will also include a number of properties outside metro Atlanta, including two motels in Hortense, Georgia, in Wayne County. One motel has a pond and RV sites that can be operated as a separate business. Others include land throughout the Southeast.
