AUSTIN, Texas, June 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) has officially opened its 2025 AANP National Conference in San Diego, California, bringing together more than 4,200 nurse practitioners (NPs) from across the country. As the largest nurse practitioner conference globally, this premier event underscores the vital role NPs play in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to millions of Americans.
Over six days, attendees will engage in more than 330 sessions and workshops, featuring leading health experts and focusing on the latest evidence-based, clinically oriented and practical information for NPs of all specialties. The conference offers up to 34 hours of continuing education, equipping participants with cutting-edge skills to meet the evolving needs of patients and communities nationwide. Attendees will also take part in important discussions on health policy, practice regulation and legislative issues affecting the NP profession.
"The 2025 AANP National Conference is a powerful demonstration of the strength and unity of the nurse practitioner community," said AANP President Stephen A. Ferrara, DNP. "As more than 431,000 NPs across the U.S. continue to address health care challenges and improve outcomes for patients, this conference is both a celebration of our achievements and a recommitment to our mission of delivering compassionate, high-quality care. NPs are an essential solution to increasing access and transforming health care delivery across the nation."
The 2025 conference also marks an important leadership transition for the association. Ferrara will pass the presidency to Valerie J. Fuller, PhD, DNP, who currently serves as AANP President-Elect.
"I am honored to serve as President of AANP and to advocate for nurse practitioners who are at the forefront of health care innovation and patient care," said Fuller. "My priorities include driving health care policy reforms that remove unnecessary barriers to NP practice, strengthening support for our growing workforce and empowering the next generation of NP leaders. Together, we will continue to improve patient outcomes and ensure that high-quality care is accessible to individuals and families in communities across our nation."
The conference will also provide valuable networking opportunities and continue to amplify the voice of NPs in shaping health care policy and practice. Following the in-person sessions, registrants will have access to on-demand content from June 27 to Aug. 4.
