Laser Therapy Certification Course Launched at ChiroSymposium 2020

LINDON, Utah, March 10, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Medical professionals from Texas, and 17 additional states, recently completed the first Laser Therapy Certification Course sponsored by Aspen Laser Systems, LLC, a medical device company and emerging global leader in innovative photomedicine technology, in conjunction with the ChiroSymposium 2020 event held at the Gaylord Resort in Grapevine, Texas, February 21-23, 2020. Participants included Chiropractors, Therapists, and Medical Doctors (MD). According to Charles Vorwaller, president & CEO of Aspen Laser, "This is the first of a number of similar events that will be held throughout this year. We believe that there is an unmet need in the medical industry for in-person education, coupled with hands-on training, that is focused on the emerging field of laser therapy, now referred to as Photobiomodulation. The 12-hour course encompassed a comprehensive range of topics, with an emphasis on providing a strong foundation of the scientific, safety, and hands-on clinical training needed in the utilization of therapy lasers in the clinical setting. Additional education covered the proper methods of research and treatment protocols. At the end of the course, each participant completed a competency examination and received an official certificate of completion, if passed.  The course was approved by the Texas Chiropractic Association for up to 12 hours of continuing education units (CEU's) in Texas and auto-approved in 24 other states: CO, CT, DE, GA, ID, IL, IN, IA, MD, MI, MS, MT, NE, NM, ND, OH, OR, RI, SC, UT, VT, VA, WA, and WY. In addition, the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards approved the course through the PACE Program (Course ID: 8180).

Michael W. Mathesie, DC, DACRB, DABFP, was the course instructor and has lectured for the profession in topics including laser therapy certification, sports injuries, and rehabilitation, and is considered an expert in his field. After graduating from Life Chiropractic College in 1988, he has maintained an active practice in Coral Springs, Florida. Dr. Mathesie is double board certified: the American Chiropractic Rehabilitation Board (DACRB) and the American Board of Forensic Professionals (DABFP).

The next ChiroSymposium event is scheduled for June 12 – 14, 2020 to be held in Norfolk, VA; with additional locations and dates to be announced in the near future, and will be posted on the Aspen Laser and Aspen Laser University websites.
