WASHINGTON, Sept. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- LATINA Style, Inc., the premier company addressing the needs of the Latina business owner and professional working woman, will honor Dr. Francelis Gonzalez M.D. F.A.A.P. CEO of Kidsville Pediatrics, as LATINA Style Entrepreneur of the year for 2011 during the LATINA Style Business Series in Orlando, FL. The event will take place on Thursday, October 6, 2011 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Hilton in the WALT DISNEY WORLD Resort located at 1751 Hotel Plaza Boulevard, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830.
The Business Series, unique to LATINA Style Magazine, is a well-known development program empowering Latina entrepreneurs across the country. Over 28,000 Latina entrepreneurs and professionals have benefited from participating in this exciting and informative one-day business program since its conception in 1998. Dr. Francelis Ivette Gonzalez is a Board-Certified Pediatrician & Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics who has been caring for children in Central Florida and the surrounding communities since 1999. Born and raised in Puerto Rico. Dr. Gonzalez obtained her medical degree from National University Pedro H. Urena in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic where she graduated Cum Laude. After moving to the United States, she decided to pursue her fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Los Angeles Children's Hospital in California. Soon after completing her fellowship in California she began Bone Marrow Transplant Training at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle. Dr. Gonzalez and her family settled in Orlando in 1998 and soon established her own private practice as a General Pediatrician in Haines City in March 1999. Since then Dr. Gonzalez has opened four additional clinics in the Florida area under the Kidsville Pediatrics name. She has received numerous recognitions including the 2010 American Medical Association Physician, the 2010 Hispanic Women that Make a Difference Award, and the 2011 Certificate of Excellence presented at "The Conquistador Awards" by the Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce.
The one-day conference will be in English and includes expert panels on the following topics: Making Networking Events Pay, Building Capacity to Position Your Business for Growth, Successful Marketing Strategies to Promote Your Business and Yourself, and Latina Entrepreneur: Lessons Learned.
