NEW YORK, March 16, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading photography and multimedia studio complex PIER59 STUDIOS will remain open for business.

PIER59 STUDIOS is the only full service Studio Complex in the New York area that from start of business collectively holds licenses issued by the NY Department of Health and legal use for Photo and Motion productions with Certification of Occupancy from the NY Department of Buildings and Fire Department. The large spaces of PIER59 Studios are unique as the widest in NYC and easily allows for the CDC suggested distance between occupants while at work.

Federico Pignatelli, owner and President, said "Pier59 Studios is concerned with the continued spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and is committed to making safety the highest priority to keep our valued clients and employees safe while informed of the health protocols and preventative measures we have in place here at our Facility. Pier59 has meticulously been monitoring the situation and are following guidelines set forth by the CDC as well as the New York City Department of Health in order to prevent any further spread of the virus. We have amplified our standard cleaning procedures and are practicing extra care to disinfect and sanitize all common areas, frequently touched surfaces, equipment gears, door knobs, hand rails and restrooms. In addition, we have large amounts of sanitizing hand soap in each restroom, public and private, that are disinfected on an hourly basis.

"One important step the organization is taking is limiting unnecessary foot traffic within the studio space itself by having a large amount of our staff Telecommuting. This will contribute to the overall safety of the population still actively shooting within the studios. For those that cannot telecommute, we are rigorously disinfecting work areas, desks, computers, phones, etc. Employees who have traveled outside the country or domestically to "hotspots" are being asked self-quarantine and stay home for two weeks. As of now, all business trips are limited to essential travel only and are approved by Senior Management prior to bookings. Additionally, we ask that our employees continue rigorous judgment for their health and safety as well as the health and safety of their colleagues and business associates. We are requiring staff to avoid public transportation when possible and to wear gloves during transportation and also are requested to avoid physical contact as much as possible while at work.

"As the largest Photo Studio in New York, we are blessed with the largest and safest spaces, allowing our clients to spread out to more easily following the CDC spacing guidelines that would be impossible in the smaller shooting spaces of other Studios. Additionally, and important, as we are the sole users of our entranceway to our building, so we do not have to worry about our space being shared/compromised by unknown variables as occupants of other businesses, as it is for the vast majority of other Studios. Only our clients and our staff will have access to our entranceway, elevator, stairwell and common areas. If our guests feel more comfortable avoiding the elevator altogether, we are at only one short flight of stairs from ground floor to enter Pier59 Studios.
