Leading Securities Litigator John Dellaportas Joins Kelley Drye
NEW YORK, July 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Kelley Drye & Warren LLP announced today that John Dellaportas has joined the firm as a partner and co-chair of the Securities Litigation and Enforcement practice group. Mr. Dellaportas brings over two decades of experience representing clients in high-stakes commercial disputes, securities litigation and arbitration matters.

Mr. Dellaportas is a preeminent securities litigator with a proven track record of success. In 2012, Mr. Dellaportas acted as lead trial counsel to Bruce Bent, co-inventor of the money market fund, and his son Bruce Bent II, in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) civil enforcement action against them. Following a month-long trial, a federal jury rendered a unanimous verdict clearing the Bents of all SEC and securities fraud charges. That courtroom victory earned him national media recognition as well as "Litigator of the Week" honors from The Am Law Litigation Daily and "Litigator in the Spotlight" recognition by The American Lawyer.
Mr. Dellaportas defends clients in shareholder class action suits, civil enforcement actions, and investigations brought by the SEC. He also handles cases involving mergers and acquisitions, government contracts, commercial real estate, and intellectual property matters. Mr. Dellaportas serves as an arbitrator and court-appointed fiduciary in financial services and real estate proceedings. He joins Kelley Drye from Morgan Lewis.
