LG Electronics Launches All-In-One Security, Smart Home Device Through U.S. Retailers

LG Smart Security incorporates the latest technology for superior functionality and protection. Homeowners will enjoy easy remote access to crisp, clear video delivered to their mobile device, tablet or computer thanks to a Full HD camera with digital zoom capability. The LG Smart Security camera can capture virtually an entire room with minimal image distortion, as it features a 130-degree field-of-view. Users can even monitor their homes at night thanks to the device's night vision capability with up to 15 feet of visibility.*

Professional Monitoring Secured by ADT Canopy

With LG Smart Security, users can enjoy home security monitoring and smart home features along with the assurance that their device is backed by ADT.

LG's compact all-in-one device offers users the flexibility to add ADT Canopy professional services for additional protection and peace of mind. Homeowners can subscribe to ADT Canopy for LG Smart Security on a month-to-month basis, with no long-term contract and no penalties for cancellation.

LG Smart Security customers have the option of two ADT Canopy services: Intrusion Detection and Secure Video Storage. Intrusion Detection delivers 24/7 professional security monitoring and will alert emergency personnel when an alarm is triggered if the camera detects video motion, and it offers the capability to remotely arm or disarm the security device from anywhere. Once the alarm is received, ADT will call the user via phone for verification and if nobody answers, ADT will dispatch first-responders. With Secure Video Storage, users can access stored video content choosing from a seven- or 30-day history package.

LG Smart Security owners can add ADT Canopy Intrusion Detection for $19.99 per month. They can add Secure Video Storage for as low as $9.99 per month. An Intrusion Detection and Secure Video Storage bundle option is available starting at $24.99. To give users an opportunity to test which offering best meets their needs, ADT is offering a 60-day trial of service for new customers.

Users have access to 24/7 secure live streaming video to mobile devices through ADT Canopy for secure data streaming, custom self-alerts via email or push notifications, and the mobile companion app. They can also create custom security settings to fit their routines and needs, including modes for when they're home, at work, on vacation, sleeping and more.

Convenient Control

Smartphone lovers and those who travel or are regularly away from home will appreciate that it's easy to check the status of their home using the ADT Canopy mobile app for LG Smart Security, which is available for both Android and iOS users. Via the app, users can check temperature and humidity, view a live feed of their home or previously recorded footage (additional paid ADT subscription required), change security modes and more.

If LG Smart Security detects something out of the ordinary, the device can also alert users using app notifications and emails. Plus, the app allows users to check on their kids, babysitters and pets when away from home. They can even communicate with people or pets at home via their phone and the device's two-way microphone, which allows users to hear and talk to people when they are away.

A Smarter Home

In addition to its security capabilities, LG Smart Security is designed to act as a central hub to control other smart devices within the home, enabling users to connect seamlessly to peripheral devices and control them through one centralized mobile app. With just the touch of a button on their smartphones, home automation enthusiasts can control other smart devices, such as door sensors and lights. With the device's Z-Wave support, users can also add contact sensors to doors and windows to provide extra security, and they can add smart outlets for programming and scheduling when the lights come on and off. Future software updates will include support for additional smart devices, including door locks and thermostats. LG Smart Security also will be compatible with Amazon Alexa-enabled products at launch.
