Palm Springs International Airport Deploys Liberty's HEXWAVE to meet new TSA employee screening requirements and make air travel safer

This technology satisfies a new TSA mandate on airport employee screening.  PSP and Liberty Defense are raising the bar for aviation security as this new requirement comes closer to becoming mandatory for approximately 175 U.S. airports.

The TSA mandate (TSA-NA-32-02), introduced in 2023 and set to be fully enforced by April 2026, requires U.S. airports to implement employee screening procedures capable of detecting explosive threats for employees accessing secure areas. PSP selected Liberty's HEXWAVE system in January 2025 as the airport continues to lead the industry in meeting this important federal security directive. HEXWAVE is deployed with the help of Veterans High Risk Security Solutions, a California Certified small business that is Veteran owned and operated.

The system delivers fast, contactless, high-throughput screening through a walkthrough portal – no stopping for individuals being screened -- minimizing disruption while maximizing security. To protect privacy, HEXWAVE does not save images and security personnel see only a generic silhouette with possible threat areas identified.
