NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Jan. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Maytag ranks highest in trust among refrigerator appliance brands according to Lifestory Research America's Most TrustedTM 2016 Refrigerator Appliance Brand Study released today.  The study, based on 29,379 consumer opinions, tracks how trust impacts consumers evaluations of refrigerator appliance brands.

"Product manufactures have recognized the importance of gaining the trust of those that are shopping and using their products.  Customers have told us that most kitchen appliances are likely to function and serve their needs, but when it comes to making purchase decisions, they seek out those brands that they trust," said Lifestory Research President Eric Snider. "When a brand like Maytag is offered, we find that the brand trust pays significant dividends."

The Lifestory Research America's Most Trusted Study, in its fourth year, awards companies that provide services or products to customers in their home.  Brands currently awarded the designation of America's Most Trusted include: home builders, active adult resort home builders, cabinets, faucets, electric utilities, HVAC systems, kitchen appliance brands, laundry appliance brands, paint, and residential realtor organizations.  Trust is measured through a Net Trust Quotient Score in which brands are divided into three categories: "advocates," customers who feel a significant trust toward the brand; "neutrals," those who trust a specific brand, but do not see a specific brand as standing on the shoulders of other brands; and "antagonists," who are skeptics with little, if any, trust in a specific brand.

As the 2016 Lifestory Research America's Most Trusted Refrigerator Appliance Brand, Maytag produced the highest Net Trust Quotient Score, followed in order by (2) Whirlpool, (3) KitchenAid, (4) Kenmore, (5) Wolf, (6) General Electric (GE), (7) LG, (8) Sub Zero, (9) Samsung, (10) Viking, (11) Miele, (12) Frigidaire, (13) Thermador, (14) Fisher & Paykel, (15) Bosch, (16) Jenn-Air, (17) Electrolux, (18) Hot Point, and (19) Amana.
