Practicing physician and healthcare executive brings more than four decades of experience in primary care, clinical informatics, population health, and value-based care
DALLAS, Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Lightbeam Health Solutions, a proven AI-enabled solutions and services leader helping healthcare organizations succeed in value-based care, today announced the appointment of Thomas P. McCarrick, MD, MBI, as Chief Medical Officer effective August 31, 2026.
A practicing physician board certified in family medicine, geriatric medicine, and clinical informatics, Dr. McCarrick brings more than four decades of clinical and healthcare leadership experience spanning primary care, population health, care coordination, clinical informatics, and value-based healthcare delivery.
As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. McCarrick will provide clinical leadership across Lightbeam, helping ensure the company's technology, solutions, and services remain closely aligned with the realities of clinical practice and the evolving needs of organizations in value-based care. His perspective as a physician executive will help advance Lightbeam's vision of turning data into action, action into outcomes, and outcomes into stronger clinical and financial performance.
"Thomas brings extensive clinical and informatics expertise alongside a deep understanding of value-based care," said Pat Cline, CEO of Lightbeam Health Solutions. "His firsthand understanding of the challenges physicians face will be invaluable as we continue bringing Lightbeam closer to the clinical workflow. His leadership will help ensure we develop solutions that reduce administrative burden, surface actionable insights at the right time, and support more informed decisions at the point of care."
Dr. McCarrick most recently served as the Chief Medical Officer of Vanova Health Solutions and previously served as Chief Medical Officer and Chief Medical Informatics Officer for Vanguard Medical Group. Throughout his career, he has led major initiatives involving patient-centered medical homes (PCMH), the CMS Comprehensive Primary Care Initiative (CPCi) and Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+), quality reporting systems, care management infrastructure, and digital health strategies designed to improve patient outcomes while reducing unnecessary healthcare utilization.
"Throughout my career, I've seen firsthand how difficult it can be for clinicians to turn the growing amount of healthcare data available to them into meaningful action for their patients," said Dr. McCarrick. "I'm excited to join Lightbeam at a time when healthcare organizations are being asked to take greater accountability for both outcomes and cost, and to help ensure the technology supporting that transition works for the clinicians using it. There is a tremendous opportunity to equip physicians and care teams with timely, actionable insights that enable more proactive, coordinated care and help organizations succeed in value-based care."
Dr. McCarrick's appointment comes as Lightbeam continues to advance its AI-enabled population health platform and expand the solutions and services available to organizations managing increasingly complex patient populations and value-based care arrangements.
