Lincoln County, NC Continues to Grow Businesses, Education, and Housing
LINCOLNTON, N.C., Feb. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Lincoln Economic Development Association (LEDA) continues their focus on commercial, residential, and educational development throughout Lincoln County.
3PM Brewing Co. has announced plans to open its first taproom and production facility in downtown Lincolnton in Fall 2018. Mayor Ed Hatley said "We are very excited about the acquisition of a brewery in downtown Lincolnton. The addition of a brewery at Eureka Mill completes a goal the Council has worked on to provide another destination site for Lincolnton. We would like to thank Piedmont Properties and LEDA for their work on this project."
Additionally, Lincoln County has announced approval for 3,000 plus new housing lots. Executive Director Cliff Brumfield states, "The addition of new construction is changing the landscape of who we are as a city and community. People are attracted to the easy access to career opportunities and the family-friendly atmosphere makes Lincoln County even more appealing." He continues, "As Lincolnton and Lincoln County continues to seek more acreage and opportunities for development, more jobs will be created for local residents."
Furthermore, education remains a top priority in Lincoln County. As the NC Schools Report Card was released for the 2016-2017 school year, Lincoln County schools exceeded numerous growth expectations. Lincoln County surpassed the state's 86.5% graduation rate with a rate of 90.8%. Business Development Manager Kara Brown comments, "Education remains a tremendous positive aspect for Lincoln County with many families settling here because of it." She goes on to say, "Lincoln County is going to great lengths to increase technology in the classroom as well as developing career and college ready programs to assist students with future goals."
